Matthew combines technical economic expertise with personal experience across large and small business to deliver practical insights which are easy to understand and act upon.
Experience
Matthew is the Principal Economist of Regional Economic Advisory and has nearly 20 years working within regional Australia and undertaking economic and financial analysis.
He has a decade of experience across all areas of expertise including economic and social impact assessment, cost benefit and triple bottom line analysis, financial appraisal and cost recovery infrastructure pricing.
In addition to his extensive experience in project appraisal, Matthew has a strong background in stakeholder consultation, strategic planning and management of multi-disciplinary project teams having delivered numerous surveys, workshops/forums, business and strategic plans for public, private, and not for profit clients.
Matthew is born and raised in regional Queensland, with over a decade or prior farming experience working across broad-acre cropping, beef cattle and horticulture. With family stretching from Innisfail, the Burdekin, Mackay and at one time west to Mount Isa, his passion for the region and practical experience in these industries gives unique insight when evaluating and developing projects.

Sean’s academic and technical foundations give him a regional perspective that is measurable and data driven. Combined with practical observation and knowledge, his outlook is highly credible.
Experience
Sean is PhD candidate at James Cook University with previous experience in regional economics and wealth management. He has spent several years in data analysis, developing skills in statistical analysis and presentation, often using excel and specialised software. Much of his early work was on portfolio investments and financial time series but has since shifted to focus on regional economies.
Sean’s recent work at REA has included an Economic Impact Assessment of a new active transport corridor in Bega NSW and socio-economic profiling associated with new sporting and recreational facilities in Mount Isa.
Sean was awarded an academic medal on completion of his bachelor degrees.
